sorry, guess that wasn't close to being clear, so...a short i made myself was of a superhero girl with an ice cream sunday as a backdrop, as an example of some work. so, i am looking for people who might have interesting work, alot of the things i tend to curate are very pop-art in nature, hyper-real, but they do not HAVE to be. I am involved with curating shows and getting funding for various events. Thats about it, usually i show 6-12 artists, with 2-4 pieces each running in length from 3-6 minutes each.

I see...didn't mean to sound rude, just didn't understand.
So does one have to be a New Yorker to submit? I just made an experimental, stop-motion short for the Flicker film fest but it's L.A., not N.Y...

sure thing, i mean i am no where near a film festival in the scope of the events i organize, i mean i usually get about 300 or more people to show up, and its very art/scene ,(sorry for the lame term) and there are usually a few amazing d.j.'s playing music afterwards. but the focus is really about presenting the films, and presenting them to people to appreciate them. this time i;m organizing this show in conjunction with a friend of mine who just got picked up by "Larry T", who organized the electroclash music gig, with groups like, fisherspooner, ladytron, peaches, anyway so, my friends music is along those lines in its style, and so the films i am interested in should somehow jive with this overall feeling. anyway, i'ld love to see yourstuff. i;m not sure if you;re familiar with these groups, but whatever it doesn't matter. i would like to see your stuff. cheers!

Well done devilkelly! Someone who actually has the balls to go and SHOW his film publicly. We do it here in the UK at local and national film club levels, and on many occasions various organisations have utilised local Town Halls and the like for actually SHOWING their product.
More power to your elbow fellow S8 user.

"Frameline",
if you read the "Flicker" thread you'd see that some of us have shown our films publicly as well. Aside from Flicker there many other fests in the U.S. that accept S8 work.
Don't know what you meant about "having the balls" ... I'm sure most of us would like to show our work publicly more often.
